of live
animals in Chinatown San Francisco's "Food" animal markets.
I am ashamed to admit that I am part of the human race.
Please add my name
to the list. In my opinion, turtles should be left in their
natural habitat and
not allowed to be exploited.
I think it is wrong
for humans to entertain themselves at the expense of other
living breathing things!
We have higher intelligence, but we need to use
that intelligence
to better the life of living things, not to look for other
ways to torture them!
There is no reason for these poor turtles to be tortured
like this. Please
put an end to it.
The torture and slaughter
of wild turtles for petty human profit is abhorrent and
despicable.
We strongly urge a complete and immediate end to such a
devastatingly inhumane
practice.
It's unbelievable that
the country which is considered the most civilized in the
whole world, allows
so disgusting situation for the animals in Chinatown!
Stop this cruelty to
our wildlife and treat with respect.
This is a terrible
situation and should be stopped immediately.
This is disgusting
to have these atrocities right here in the USA,
a supposedly "civilized
country".
Stop the food market in San Francisco now!!
I think that the capture
and subsequent torture of these turtles is a sick,
brutal act, and I
support anyone who opposes this wholesale slaughter,
and any tactics that
they may deem necessary in stopping this atrocity.

I am outraged at the
barbaric cruelty practiced in San Francisco's live
animal markets. It
is a disgrace that frogs, turtles, fish, chickens and birds,
often illegally poached
from the wild, are forced to live in obscenely filthy
conditions, housed without food or water, and agonizingly dismembered
and mutilated alive.
And all of this on PUBLIC DISPLAY!
I am so outraged that
I would not visit San Francisco and spend tourist
dollars in your city.
I am also telling others.
Yes! Please add my name to your petition! We CANNOT allow this outrage to continue!
God help us if this is the best America can do for its non-human inhabitants.
Those pictures were
horrible! I can not believe I actually live in the same state!!!

That is just plain sad and disgusting!
I am disgusted by the
mistreatment of turtles by the Chinese markets in
San Francisco. Inhumane
treatment of animals is forbidden in the United States.
Yet, the markets in
San Francisco seem to be exempt from the law. I will not
visit San Francisco
and will urge my friends to participate in my boycott until
these practices stop.
I recently had input on the site for a meeting of computer
professionals from
the Midwest. San Francisco was one of the sites being considered.
When I mentioned the
markets and showed pictures of them, the organizers decided
to take SF out of
the running.
Mayor Brown, clean
up your act!!!
It's sickening the
way our "government" is allowing the exploitation of wild
animals for profit.
